WARNING – This book may lead to the deaths of many adventurers!

Contained here are some of the realms’ most twisted, corrupt, and conniving creatures – fearsome foes to test the strength of those unfortunate enough to encounter them. The realms are not all death and danger, however; this tome also contains cute critters, interesting animals, and plenty of helpful and intelligent denizens with communities and history of their own.

Wherever your adventures take you, something from the Creature Compendium will be there to greet you!

The Endless Realms Creature Compendium contains:

  • Over 250 creatures
  • Many alternate creature variants to keep players on their toes
  • Rules for creating custom creatures
  • Rules for adjusting the strength of creatures

Requires Endless Realms Corebook To play

I made the mistake of trying to order this new through Amazon (I'm in the U.S.) to try and avoid the delay of Drivethru's printing.

I clearly ordered the Creature Compendium and they sent me the Core Rulebook instead (I already own this). Not only that, but there is an Amazon sticker covering the UPC of the book saying that its the Creature Compendium which it clearly is not. They are refunding my purchase, as I do not trust that I won't just get another Core Rulebook if I try a return/exhange.

I thought I'd mention it in case you, as the creator need to get in touch with Amazon. I'm hoping that you see this, and I guess I'll just try and order it here and wait a month.

No problem! I figured it might be something you'd want to look at. Also, I just wanted to say that I'm not sure how I missed this game when it came out, but I'm loving the Endless Realms core rulebook!! The book is beautifully made and the art is top notch! I'm really looking forward to ordering the Creature Compendium from here in the next few days.

Thanks again for the reply!

I'm really glad they got it straightened out for you! When I returned my copy, I was concerned that they might try to blame you. So, I had used their online chat to make sure they knew that I considered it Amazon's mistake. I made sure they made notes of that so that it couldn't somehow come back on you.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting on a couple of POD coupons from Kickstarters, and then I'm going to order the Creature Compendium along with them so I can save on shipping. Thanks again for all your help! Oh, and I want to say that I do really like Endless Realms, and my players are really excited about playing!

Is there going to be a print on demand version of this? Book is amazing but its just easier to read from actual book rather than screen.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll likely say it every time I review one of these. Whatever you call it, the sourcebook dedicated to creatures and monsters is the most important book in any roleplaying game, after your Core Rules. The Endless Realms Core Rulebook set the bar for their sophomore book extremely high, let me tell you, which made this very hard to review.

I’m going to start with the “negatives” just to get them out of the way. There were a few noticeable editing hiccups, but honestly, I’ve seen higher profile games with almost as issues there. It happens. Anything else “negative” I could say really comes down to comparing this book to the Core Rulebook, which is varying degrees of unfair. One thing that I loved about the Core Book was the inclusion of phonological notations under all the races (even Human), I would have really liked to see the same done for this...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
