You can actually get the no-art version of the PDF for free... https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/64331/Labyrinth-Lord-Revised-Edition-noart-version?cPath=2033_6311

This product's document file was lasted updated in June, 2011. Will this copy be updated with the changes made in the Advanced Labyrinth Lord kickstarter which ends today? There is no PDF only option in the KS, but a PDF is included with the hard copy.

Should I be playing this instead of the Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game? Should I be using the Advanced edition of LL instead of OSRIC 2nd edition updated? I'm honestly asking. I have no bias, I'll likely end up buying both eventually. What do people thing? Truth is, I already own everything BFRP has in print, OSRIC 2 updated, and am waiting on LL revised and LL enhanced to arrive. I have AS&SH 2nd edition and a couple other low magic, low fantasy games on the shelf. Like I said, what do people think?

I love Labyrinth Lord- its like B/X- Basic D&D Moldvay, while Advanced LL is like AD&D 1st or 2nd ed.

Is there a way to find a higher-resolution version of the cover art?
I'd love to have a hardcover/softcover copy, but having to import it from the US makes it ridiculously expensive (i'm from Latin America)

I enjoyed LL a great deal and wrote a review with Knights of the Dinner Table, which I've also published on my blog, Here:http://withinthedungeon.blogspot.com/2016/11/rpg-review-labyrinth-lord.html

LL is my favorite of the Retro-Clones and it's no surprise since D&D Basic is my go to game. While I initially picked up the free (artless version) I was able to secure a fully art version later... What can I say it' looks great on my shelf, and in the year since I've had it (and abused) my used softcover copy is still looking good.

Is this really an improvement over the D&D Rules Cyclopedia all-in-one HC version of 0e aka OD&D aka (B/X/C/M), or is this basically a reprint of that material? Does it take some of the best ideas from 1e/2e/3e/4e/5e and push them back into the OD&D 0e rule paradigm, or how is it different than 0e? Both of the reviews I read seem to like this but don't really give any specifics of what is great about it other than "it's like when I was a kid" nostalgia factor kudos. Which is fine, I'm appreciative of nostalgia, but I already still have my old D&D books. :D

Hi John B. This is a great game. If you already have all the early D&D books this isn't going to change things for you. However I believe it is still well worth getting, as it puts everything you need into one book/PDF and feels a lot easier to work with, transport, replace etc.

It's not BECMI at all. It's more true to the Moldvay (magenta) box, and doesn't have the complexity of the Basic-through-Immortal sets, nor the additional weapons rules, or a myriad other things.

LL Advanced is a way to kind of throw OSRIC (AD&D) "advanced" options in rather seamlessly, with the idea that "most people played it this way, mixing and matching and using rules like these"

So LL is a solid clone of a less complex Basic, and LL Advanced is extra classes and races on top. There's a reason it's a go-to for a lot of OSR folks. Check out the art-free versions, then see what you think.

Eingescanntes Buchformat
