"Ithaqua Returns" (Mp3@320 Kbps) - from the RPG & TableTop Audio Experts
The cold is biting even next to this enormous ceremonial bonfire. You sit and watch and wait or perhaps join in the ritual as the Inuit tribes-people chant, sing and play their instruments all for one purpose. To appease the great Old One, Ithaqua. A sacrifice awaits him as his worshippers call him from the sky.
Uses: This soundscape was created for use with the Cthulhu setting in an arctic region with the Inuit. But feel free to get creative. That's why you're here right?
Content: Beating drums. Solo Inuit chanters. Throat singers. Group Inuit chanting. All from authentic Inuit Native American source material. Cold wind breezes that pick up near the end. A large bonfire. Ithaqua makes an appearance near the end of the soundscape complete with large roars and a sacrifice (a screaming woman) is taken. There's also some ambient tones to give it a feel of foreboding. This track is loopable and loops seamlessly with its sister soundscape, "Calling Ithaqua".
Genre: Horror, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Modern, Period, Encounter
Similar Soundscapes: If you'd like a non-encounter version of this soundscape with the Inuit chanting without Ithaqua actually showing up, a screaming woman and minus some other elements that will make the soundscape more of a background peice, check out "Calling Ithaqua".
