Lots of times, we want to play a roleplaying game but just don’t have the time for all the prep work involved. No more. Beyond the Wall and Other Adventures is a kit to make a gang of childhood friends and send them off on their first big adventure, just like in the novels we loved growing up. Now we have this simple fantasy roleplaying game that gives a group of players all the tools they need to play an exciting adventure in a single evening, no homework, no fuss.

Anyone with a background in OSR games will already be comfortable with the core rules of Beyond the Wall.

• Inspired by the works of Ursula K. LeGuin, Susan Cooper, and Lloyd Alexander.
• Character Playbooks and Scenario Packs for play in a single evening with no prep.
• Player driven village design for fleshing out the characters’ home.
• Six Character Playbooks, including the Village Hero and the Witch’s Prentice.
• Two Scenario Packs: the Angered Fae and the Hidden Cult.

Is there any intent to update the missing page references for the PDF at some point? There's at least one place (in the playbooks), possibly two, where it refers the reader to "p.XX" for more information on Knacks.

I found it eventually - page 10, under the baseline Warrior section - but it'd be great to have an updated PDF for little things like that.

Actually, publishers often will reduce the price of a print copy if you have previously purchased the PDF. I have benefited from this MULTIPLE times. It never hurts to ask. The publisher controls the final price, not DriveThruRPG.

The content is the same. The difference is in the paper and ink used. I recommend the "Standard" version, as I don't notice a great difference between them.

Love the game system... doing a read through and would like to clarify on saving throws... are their no attribute bonuses added to the throw? just a naked d20?

Beyond the Wall and Other Adventures isn't Powered by the Apocalypse, it uses the OSR system, but it also uses character creation as an opportunity to build the group, not just a collection of characters, and focuses on requiring minimal preparation.

This game would really benefit from a "master" edition, or new printing that encompasses what all the book have combined. Love the game, but going between 4 different book for different details is a bit too much!

Just bought this, it looks like a really cool system. Instead of posting the Zip File for download, can you post the individual PDFs? I'm using the DriveThruRPG App for convenience, and I cant open a Zip and read the PDF on my Tablet with the regular app. Thanks!

Both “The Angered Fae” and “The Hidden Cult” contain this entry on the Recent Events table. I’m guessing it should be different for “The Angered Fae”?

A strange star rose in the north, and all trembled with fear at this portent. It shines still, even during the day. Test Intelligence (obscure knowledge skills may help). Success: you recall a bit of old lore about the star and know the True Name of a demon associated with the cult. Failure: you were transfixed by the unnatural glow of the star and are now cursed; -5 to the first saving throw you have to take.

That's right, Matthew. Our apologies. I suggest replacing the entry with:

Everyone in the village noticed that the man in the moon went missing several nights ago. Only you thought to chat about it with the strange old man who stopped by the inn to sell his willow bows. Test Charisma (social skills may help). Success: With a wink, he hands you a bow from the center of his bundle and asks you not to mention it. Failure: He takes offense and leaves in a huff, embarrassing you in front of everyone there. In either case, the moon returns to normal the next night and no one believes your story.

Are the saving throws a save or die like typical OSR? I mainly play Lamentations of the Flame Princess and I’m used to doing sessions where 2-3 characters die at a time.

Diese eBooks wurden direkt aus einer elektronischen Original-Datei erstellt und sind daher komplett durchsuchbar. Auch ihre Datei-Größe ist meist deutlich kleiner als die von Büchern, die eingescannt werden mussten. Die allermeisten neueren Bücher liegen in originär elektronischer Form vor.
