He killed the God of War. He ascended into his divinity. No one told him that was the easy part. Look into the inner workings of gods and how they build worlds. From a divine perch, map your world and experience tectonics, magical geography, predation, ecological conflict, and cultural development. Following in the footsteps of A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe (Gen Con ENnies 2003 Best Setting Supplement), A Magical Society: Ecology and Culture provides real-world phenomena for a fantasy game.

Higher resolution PDF:
The free sample of this work comes in two versions (fancy layout and printer friendly) and the images have a higher resolution (look better on screen). Would it be possible to add a high resolution version for the full PDF as well?
Sincerely

I haven't read the entirety yet, but how does godhood work here? I know that when a god falls, one shall take its place, and that seems logical and sound. But I'm curious about the number of gods and worlds in existence. It appears that there are more worlds than gods since every god must have created at least one world. Are there numerous worlds without gods? Are the newly created worlds less significant than the ones where the evil god was defeated? Or is it more like this: a new world will spawn a new god, but then godhood becomes almost meaningless?

In short, my questions are:

Why do gods create worlds?

How many gods are there?

Can the number of gods increase?

Can gods visit their creations?

Why was the evil god able to be slain? Wouldn't he be outside the world?

How many worlds are there?

Do most worlds lack a god?

I apologize if this is totally incomprehensible.

Hello,
I am having a bit of an issue with the PDF version of the book. For some reason, aside from the cover, the file has no graphics. The mapping guide, which includes pages from the original book, includes these graphics. Can I get help in that regard? Thanks.

Maybe delete the file and try downloading it again? If that doesn't work, contact DTRPG customer service (using the button on the bottom left of this page)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
