Compatible with the 13th Age roleplaying game

Which side will you choose? Which weapons will you wield? Earth is torn between the order of science and the chaos of fantasy. These two worlds cannot mix. Venture into lands once claimed by skyscrapers and factories, now overrun by elves, goblins, and dragons. Choose your path and commit to the quest. Monsters will hunt you; machines will track you. No gods will help you; no prophecies will choose you. The fate of the world rests with you.

The critically acclaimed Amethyst setting, now compatible with The 13th Age Roleplaying Game.

This rulebook includes:

--Eleven playable species, twenty-one icon-like affiliations, over forty backgrounds.

--Eight new classes, over 270 feats.

--Players can now select legends to expand their characters at high levels.

--High-tech equipment from revolvers to railcannons, pickup trucks to powered armor.

--Over thirty new monsters.

--New rules including vehicles and ranged combat which can be added to any game.

I am confused. I really like 13th Age and would prefer to get all the books in this setting, for this system. However, I cannot tell if I am getting everything available. What is the difference between Amethyst: Apotheosis ( 13th Age ), Amethyst: Renaissance 2.0 ( Pathfinder ) and Amethyst: Untamed-Player's Guide and Amethyst: Untamed-World Guide ( Savage Worlds )?

The Amethyst Core book is available for six different rule sets. So, if you want the books for 13th Age, Apotheosis is the first book in the series. If you want the second book in the series, you'll want to get Amethyst Factions (for 13th Age). Unlike the core books, which each have a different name, the expansions all have the same name, so make sure you select the one for 13th Age. Hope that helps.

Thank. That helps. But why is there a Player’s Guide and a World Guide for Savage Worlds? None of the other systems have two core books. Does Savage Worlds have something extra?

Sigh, no. I was told by the publisher of Savage Worlds that their customers prefer smaller books over big ones so the core book was split in half. Nearly everyone purchased both books anyway so it felt somewhat unnecessary.

Thank you. I got the Ultramodern5 KickStarter and The Affinity Kickstarter but had somehow missed your other settings. I just got them and am slowly exploring them. They are well-thought out and nicely detailed. I look forward to seeing more in the future. :)

It's the same price as all the other Amethyst core books. That being said, there is the GM sale starting March 5th.

Any chance of a Dead Tree version? I really don't buy PDF only products much, especially one clocking in at the huge page count this does! I already have the FATE version, but would love a 13th Age version as well, but only if it is available in print.

Yes, we need to confirm the POD looks good before we approve it. Last word, it was shipped. Expect an answer within two weeks.

It's a race between my editor and myself. Who can get their version done first. He's working on Savage Worlds; I'm working on 5E.

Awesome! I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I love the setting idea and have pimped it quite a bit. I plan on doing a YT review of your SW version. I will break it down as I did my DCC review (four vids). Just a cool idea with a ton of potential for a game.

Oh, sure, no pressure or anything... any chance you could review the Fate version too? Might motivate me to actually work on this thing with positive thoughts in my mind instead of looking at it with dread every morning :P

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
